What is the Exceptional Children's Department?
The Exceptional Children's Department is an educational department within the school that serves children with an identified area of special needs. In order to be considered for Special Education services, a student goes through an evaluation process. The evaluation process is designed differently for each student according to identified concerns and needs. Each evaluation process takes approximately 90 days. After this period a student is deemed eligible or ineligible based on state evaluation procedures and evaluation results.
